November/December 2012 Artist: Lloyd Hazel

We’re thrilled to see the return of Hoboken artist Lloyd Hazel to our walls for the month of November.

Lloyd Hazel is a Hoboken-based artist, designer, and creative entrepreneur. His work brings together references from all over the world, intending the eye to take in the information for the mind to decide a personal meaning. He has studied art in the United States and Brazil and traveled extensively. The art of ancient Egypt, Rococo, tribal art of the United States and the Pacific, and pop and psychedelic art of the 60s era are major influences in his works.

His paintings and prints are typically silkscreen ink over acrylic paint preserving the gestural quality of the preparatory drawings as he does not use any sampled images in his art. A few of his pieces have previously been shown at BAMA Galleries, Hoboken Library, Life is Beautiful Gallery and Starbucks.

As always, D’s does not take any money from our artists. Any proceeds from art or music sold go directly to them.
