On Saturday & Sunday (Nov 9 & 10) we’ll feature the ‘Day of the Dead’ themed art of Hoboken artist missjenny as part of the 2013 Hoboken Artists Studio Tour.

And on Sunday we’ll be joined by singer/songwriter Allison Strong.

Come by and support local art/music!

About the Art
With a sincere love of Mexican Art, missjenny has created — on a small scale — a soul celebration. You are invited to view the collection of artwork that keeps her connected to All Souls Day and to honor loved ones who have passed on.

Currently a muralist, missjenny was hand picked by Top Chef Angelo Sosa of Anejo Tequileria in NYC to create the ambiance of Mexican traditions. This gave her the ability to produce a collection of art that places you in both the heart of her life and soul of her experiences with the chance for an unforgettable journey.

Charming by nature and bright in spirit, these pieces are fun for eyes of all ages. You can visit missjenny at Hoboken Body Art where she transfers her love of art to the sacred art of tattooing. All in perfect harmony.

About the Music
Allison Strong is a talented young singer/songwriter and actress from Union City, NJ. She has appeared on Broadway in ‘Mamma Mia’ & ‘Bye Bye Birdie’. Recently, she had the honor of participating in the Johnny Mercer Songwriter’s Project in Chicago. We are delighted that she’ll bring her original songs to our li’l stage.

Allison began performing for non-profit organizations and civic events throughout the tristate area at the tender age of nine. The youngest daughter in a music and poetry-loving Colombian immigrant family, Allison began songwriting at age 14.

She composes in both English and Spanish with the help of her piano and guitar, marrying elements of Top-40, Latin Pop, Rock, and Vallenato to create a vibrant style of music that honors her Hispanic heritage and American upbringing.

About the Artists Studio Tour
Sat. & Sun. Nov. 9 & 10, 2013 from Noon to 6PM. Its a free, city-wide, self-guided walking tour of Artist Studios, Galleries and Group Exhibitions. The work of over 100 local artists will be featured.

Even though there are many locations, the tour is designed so that you can easily walk from studio to studio, gallery to gallery. And since Hoboken is only a mile square, every site is convenient to the next. As diverse as the art itself, the tour’s popularity draws artists far beyond the banks of Hoboken.

You’ll see art in many forms, representing an exciting variety of mediums. Visitors will have a chance to meet the artists, photographers, sculptors and artisans and witness the creative process at work. Even poets, musicians and performance artists will be on hand to make your day a memorable one.
