Shavaun Pizar is an abstract photographer and collage montage artist. Born in the Midwest, she spent her formative years in the wooded areas of NJ. We’re guessing this helped to inspire her eye for the abstract. Have you ever been to the wooded areas of NJ? If so, you know what we mean.
She studied art at Mason Gross at Rutgers, film at both NYU and UCLA, and received a BA in photography at Montclair. Her influences include Jerry Uelmann, Man Ray, Salvador Dali, Stanley Kubrick and Orson Welles.
We’re thrilled to be showing a wide assortment of Shavaun’s work here at D’s Soul Full Cafe throughout the month of February.
Opening Night Party
Friday February 3, 2012 7:00PM – 10:00PM. We will have free food available for our guests. Soft drinks and coffee will be available a special discount. Bring the kids as this will be a family-friendly, alcohol-free celebration of the arts.
Musical Entertainment
There will be live music from 2011 Hoboken Music Award recipient Karyn Kuhl. She will bring her intimate, acoustic songs to our li’l stage for this opening party, then again on each Sunday afternoon in February.
