When local singer/songwriter Al Festa asked if he could audition new material on our li’l stage for our well-fed patrons, how could we say no? Locals may know Al as the long-time owner/operator of Skyline Graphics here in Hoboken. He is also an accomplished musician. Come by on Saturday January 11th at Noon for a special performance by Al and his band. Plus, a few guests may pop by for a jam.
Crisscrossing the back roads of the United States in a hippy van in 1977 staged the birth of Al Festa’s songwriting passion. Alone on the road he laid himself open to the both ecstatic and frightening experiences previously unknown to him as bookworm growing up in the heart of Brooklyn NY.
On that long strange trip he was infected by the music of southern county, bluegrass, heartland rock and laid-back California folk. Today, these styles continue to inform his songs about family, the passion of love, and how to live an honest life in a sneaky world.
