March 2014 Music Resident: The Kimballs

We’re very happy to have Hoboken Music Award nominees The Kimballs on our li’l stage for the month of March

The Kimballs instinctively tap into 70′s – 80′s AM radio pop, which is updated and abbreviated by their stripped-down, post-punk DIY ethic. Influences include Lou Reed, Warren Zevon, Nick Lowe and Television.

Drummer Michael Mark and singer Tom Burns started making music together before they were old enough to drive. They named their band after a girl whose record collection they admired.

They’ve performed internationally, had soundtrack placement in award-winning indie films, been added to the CMJ Top 10 on college radio, and were name-dropped in the critically-acclaimed, young adult novel ‘So Punk Rock’.

Now the band has released a critically acclaimed album of 12 new songs and were nominated in the Hoboken Music Awards.
