Beginning Memorial Day Weekend, we will be displaying over 140 unique pieces of ‘Butterfly’ art created by the students from Urban Arts (720 Monroe St, Hoboken NJ). Ranging in age from Toddlers to Teens, their work shows a wide range of creativity, imagination and color. Each of the one-of-a-kind tiles are sure to bring a smile to anyone who sees them. So come take a look!
Main Street Pops “Through The Windows”
As an added bonus, our window will be home to a handful of beautiful, delicate tissue-paper butterflies also created by young students of Urban Arts. These will be part of ‘Through The Windows: A Storefront Art Walk of Hoboken‘ presented by Main Street Pops for the month of June.
This month-long, city-wide, public event will transform Hoboken into an expansive live public gallery with works from many local artists displayed in storefront windows throughout The Mile Square City. This further reinforces Hoboken’s place as an art, culture, dining and retail destination. Read More.
More About Urban Arts
Urban Arts is dedicated to providing students of all ages and levels a successful experience in a creative and nurturing environment. The programs at Urban Arts are structured so that students may continue their studies in more advanced classes as they get older. They have students who began in Toddler art classes and are now in Painting and Drawing classes. Older students have amassed a strong body of work to be used in portfolios for high school and college applications. Read more.
Will There Be An Opening Reception?
Unfortunately no, there will not be an Opening Reception per se. Because we are dealing with over 140 young artists, hosting such an event here would simply not be possible. However, since this event will be running for some time (at least thru the summer), we invite each artist to come, bring friends and family at different times to enjoy the art (and maybe grab a li’l something to eat, too). Feel free to contact us directly to confirm dates and times.
Supporting The Arts
As always, D’s Soul Full Cafe does not take any money from our artists. While this show is unique in that the art is not for sale, we encourage you to support local artists. There are many galleries in town where you can buy the works of local artists. You can also support local schools like Urban Arts.
